These 2 hour workshops are for grades 1-6, with Tuesday’s classes being more suitable for upper primary and more experienced students. Classes are kept small so that students can be given work appropriate to their own individual experience, confidence, and developmental levels.
These weekly workshops teach and develop skills in all areas of drama and theatre, including acting, voice, movement, improvisation, mime, mask, direction, and devising. Each semester, the participants will work towards a final project, determined by the students in collaboration with the teacher. They will learn and refine their skills as they create, rehearse and prepare for an end of semester performance. In addition to dramatic skills, they will develop and improve skills in creative thinking, planning, communication, problem solving, collaborative and independent learning and creation, flexibility and adaptability, leadership and teamwork, and will improve their self-confidence.
Children’s Theatre participants are eligible to audition for our Performance Troupe who will perform in a touring pantomime in November & December. Auditions are on the Wednesday the 8th of August, and audition packs are available from the 1st of August here
